After several venues -Germany, Belgium, France, Austria and Portugal, the exhibition "Lightopia" - originally shown at the Vitra Design Museum in collaboration with EDP Fundaçào - ends up its successful tour around the world at the Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Monterrey (MARCO) in Mexico.

“Lightopia not only examines partial aspects of lighting design – such as light art or the design of luminaires. It is the first exhibition that also considers the many different facets of designing with light and establishes a connection with contemporary issues” - Jolanthe Kugler, curator of the exhibition.

On display are ground-breaking exhibits chosen from a luminaire collection from the Vitra Design Museum in Weil am Rhein. They include creations by such designers as Wilhelm Wagenfeld, Achille Castiglioni, Gino Sarfatti and Ingo Maurer.

"Lightopia" features a Chromosaturation by Carlos Cruz-Diez.

Carlos Cruz-Diez, Chromosaturation, 1965/2011, exhibition "Carlos Cruz-Diez: Color in Space and Time", The Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, USA.
