Couleur dans l'Espace (Paris 1995)
Couleur dans l’Espace is part of the experiments, that since 1959, Cruz-Diez has been carrying out on irradiated color. This work is intended to make more evident and clear the vital experience of color forming and disintegrating into space. It arises by separating one of the lines of color of the background surface, in the form of rod or stem, from the module of the chromatic event.
In this way, the viewer can create the color spectrum that is not in the background. This spectrum evolves depending on movement and the intensity of the light.
Couleur dans l’Espace was was first exhibited in 2009 during the exhibition "Carlos Cruz-Diez. El Color sucede", in the Museo d’Art Espanyol Contemporari, Juan March Foundation, Palma de Mallorca, Spain.
